Welcome to HomeHero. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the HomeHero website and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.
1. About HomeHero
HomeHero is an online marketplace that connects homeowners and other customers with independent home service professionals, including plumbers, electricians, painters, cleaners, gardeners, and other skilled tradespeople.
HomeHero acts solely as a platform to facilitate these connections. HomeHero is not a provider of home services and is not a party to any agreement entered into between customers and professionals.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use the platform.
By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
3. User Accounts
You may be required to create an account to access certain features.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- all activities carried out through your account; and
- ensuring that the information in your account remains accurate.
HomeHero reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Professional Profiles
Subscribed Professionals are responsible for ensuring that all information published on their profiles is accurate, complete and kept up to date.
Subscribed Professionals represent that they hold any licences, qualifications or insurance required by applicable law to provide their services.
Subscribed Professionals remain solely responsible for the services they provide, their pricing, and their communications with customers.
Some professional profiles available on HomeHero are created using information obtained from publicly available sources. While we make reasonable efforts to keep this information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy or currency.
The presence of a professional on HomeHero does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation or certification by HomeHero.
Professionals may claim their profile, update their information or request corrections by contacting HomeHero.
If a professional believes that any information displayed on HomeHero is inaccurate, outdated or should not be published, they may contact us. We will review the request and, where appropriate, correct, update or remove the information within a reasonable period.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for selecting the professionals they wish to engage.
Before hiring a professional, customers should review the professional’s profile, qualifications, reviews and any other relevant information and make their own assessment regarding suitability.
6. Subscription Services
HomeHero may offer paid subscription plans that provide additional features, increased visibility or other benefits for professionals.
Subscription fees, billing frequency and available features will be displayed at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Professionals may cancel their subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Failure to make payment may result in suspension or termination of premium features or account access.
Purchasing a subscription does not guarantee the receipt of enquiries, customers or business opportunities.
HomeHero reserves the right to modify its subscription plans, pricing and features from time to time. Any changes will be communicated to affected users in advance and will apply from the next billing cycle or renewal date or otherwise applicable.
7. Search Rankings
HomeHero aims to provide users with relevant search results.
Professional listings may be ranked using a variety of factors, including:
- relevance to the user’s search;
- location;
- profile completeness;
- customer reviews and ratings;
- subscription level; and
- other factors intended to improve the user experience.
Premium subscriptions may increase the visibility of professional profiles.
8. Reviews and User Content
Customers may submit reviews based on genuine service experiences.
Users agree not to submit false, misleading, defamatory, offensive or unlawful content.
HomeHero reserves the right to moderate, edit or remove reviews or other content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Professionals grant HomeHero the right to display and use provided content for the operation and promotion of the platform.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the platform for unlawful purposes;
- provide false or misleading information;
- interfere with the operation or security of the platform;
- upload malicious software;
- impersonate another person or business;
- misuse reviews or ratings;
- copy or scrape content without permission.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all content, trademarks, logos, software, graphics and other materials on HomeHero are the property of HomeHero or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any HomeHero intellectual property.
11. Disclaimer
HomeHero provides a platform connecting customers and independent professionals.
HomeHero does not guarantee:
- the quality of any services;
- the qualifications of professionals;
- the availability of professionals;
- pricing quoted by professionals;
- the outcome of any work performed; or
- that customers will receive responses or professionals will receive enquiries.
Users are solely responsible for their decisions when selecting or engaging professionals.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HomeHero shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform or from services provided by professionals.
13. Suspension and Termination
HomeHero may suspend or terminate user accounts where users:
- breach these Terms;
- engage in fraudulent or unlawful conduct;
- misuse the platform;
- fail to pay applicable subscription fees; or
- otherwise compromise the integrity or security of the platform.
14. Privacy
Your use of HomeHero is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data.
15. Changes to These Terms
HomeHero may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law.
The updated version will be published on this page together with the revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium.
